Evolutionary Roots of Stress, Neurobiological Dysregulation, and the Human Condition

By: ME"The Old Ancient Woman"

Change is a fundamental principle of life, and all living organisms undergo polymorphic transformations—distinct developmental stages characterized by specific physiological and behavioral features. In the animal kingdom, these transformations occur seamlessly within a biologically determined progression, primarily governed by the basal ganglia and the brainstem—components of what is often referred to as the "reptilian brain." This neurobiological system underpins instinctual survival behaviors, autonomic nervous system regulation, arousal states, sleep-wake cycles, and other core functions essential to lifespan maintenance.

In non-human species, survival behaviors are continuously activated in response to environmental demands—predator vigilance, foraging, mating, and territorial movement. This constant physiological readiness, a hallmark of the stress response, is a natural part of animal life. However, in humans, this state of high alert has been co-opted beyond biological necessity, shaped by sociopolitical forces, intergroup conflict, and existential competition over resources, identity, and control.

As a result, the human nervous system—particularly the autonomic and limbic structures—becomes chronically activated, mimicking the stress-adaptive behaviors observed in other species. This prolonged activation triggers the sympathetic nervous system's cascade: increased heart rate, blood pressure, and the fight-flight-freeze-fawn responses. The neuroendocrine system responds with elevated secretion of cortisol, norepinephrine, epinephrine, histamine, and glutamate, establishing a heightened arousal state that compromises prefrontal cortex function, impairs executive reasoning, and inhibits higher-order cognitive processing.

Crucially, the human neocortex—especially in conjunction with the prefrontal cortex—distinguishes human cognition from other species. These structures support abstract reasoning, memory integration, decision-making, and emotional regulation. Yet, chronic activation of stress circuits during early development imprints these threat-response patterns into neural architecture, forming behavioral templates that are easily reactivated later in life. These early imprints suppress the engagement of prefrontal regions and reinforce reactive, rather than reflective, behavior.

Environmental and psychosocial determinants—such as socioeconomic instability, political oppression, religious ideology, mobility patterns, sleep disruption, and adverse life experiences—further exacerbate dysregulation within the central nervous system. The result is a complex neurobiological vulnerability that predisposes individuals to systemic disease, neuroinflammation, and psychiatric morbidity. Epidemiologically, this is reflected in the increased prevalence of chronic illness, neurodevelopmental disorders, and mental health conditions, particularly manifesting in adolescence and persisting into adulthood.

Despite technological advancements and improvements in material living conditions, underlying dysregulation at the cellular level remains masked. Alterations in cell signaling, oxidative stress, metabolic dysfunction, and impaired synaptic communication—especially in brain regions involved in higher cognition—drive a silent epidemic of neurodegeneration and psychological distress. Political and social systems that weaponize behavior through mechanisms such as discrimination, racism, and marginalization exert profound neurobiological effects, altering neural plasticity and increasing disease susceptibility.

Furthermore, when cultural norms reinforce pathological behaviors—driven by the dark tetrad traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism)—they contribute to the normalization of victimization and the erosion of communal well-being. In such environments, the human brain remains in a constant defensive mode, with impaired neocortical and prefrontal integration, limiting the capacity for empathy, critical thinking, and holistic health.

Understanding human behavior through this evolutionary and neurobiological lens reveals the deep-rooted activation of stress systems as a tool for social control, competition, and power consolidation. Chronic stress becomes embedded at the molecular level, altering DNA expression, promoting gene mutations, disrupting protein folding, and impairing immune and neural integrity.

The epidemic of chronic illness, neuropsychiatric disorders, and relational dysfunction can thus be traced back to these early-life activations. A society that fails to interrogate how early experiences and sociocultural dynamics shape neural development risks perpetuating cycles of disease and dysfunction. True healing requires a reevaluation of the environments we construct—socially, politically, and emotionally—and an intentional cultivation of conditions that support prefrontal development, neuroplasticity, and integrative well-being.

Reflection: To restore human vitality and resilience, one must conduct an honest inventory of life experiences, social interactions, and environmental exposures that have influenced the trajectory of neural and biochemical function. In doing so, we reclaim agency over our neurobiological destiny and affirm the possibility of peace, not only as a cultural ideal, but as a physiological necessity.

Promoting Culture of health and well-being..... is it a universal responsibility or a personal choice?

20160811_161001 DC Mission good deeds - Sarah 2016

Some moments bring our attention to the contradictions of realities and how humans haven't dared to acknowledge the constant inner struggles of the soul when socioeconomic divide and status took away the sense of being human. The competitive race of entity, identity, and the have it all without a question. The overwhelming load of thinking you got it right while it is only perception. You come to the moment of remembering the years, the months, and the days that you understand what is around, and it was only perception. The highest moments of joy and doing a good deed, and the lowest moments of collapse and questioning everything around, to open the mind of the sociodivide, and the world of acknowledging status and pride. It was only perceptions, making fun of kindness, ignoring those who are thinking they got it right while it is only perception to wake up from the wasted years of what was once real and turned to be only perceptions and you didn't get it right.

Some are naturally born happy from within and find joy in going out in the world and doing what is right, however many are not happy to see this from some not them, from an outsider, not an insider from the socio-divide to the clique, to the crystallization of the tribe and you wonder I did not get it right. The taboo of being a human being without understanding that you are sized up and there is a criterion for your life. A tale of thousands of stories to peel the layers of what are real means, and how it becomes nothing but perception and idea, with no framework of specific structure to be thought of as a reality however, you wake up on the socio-divide, and the world of status seeing the thousands of miles of distance between you and what once you thought it is real when it turned out to be nothing but perception.

Once we were taught about culture shock among nations, now it is culture shock among locals and tribes, the perception turned many facts into daydreaming, creating unrealistic expectations for the sake of making it look real, while it is only perception sooner or later will fade away after taking a piece of your precious time, and time is life. A wasted time in perceptions, not realities. Forgetting the soul and the inner structure of balance. Many are not satisfied with what they have, many are plotting against one another for fake realities, many are withdrawn and confused, and their blindfold cleared to see nothing but wasted years and time is gone... The competitiveness that closed many eyes to stick to what is real, the wheel of status, and the socio divide created delusional perceptions letting humans act from high stressful manner toward one another. One-click can change the whole story, with one text can change human life, and with one picture you question what is life?

The beauty of the world is made by Heavenly Hands, it is eternal, it is a witness to the human delusional perception of entitlement, and being lost in the perception of fake realities taking humans away from themselves, and creating endless struggles, conflict, and unjustified stress, and plotting to mess up daily life. It is uncomfortable witnessing the years fly by with a deeper understanding that my perception was all wrong, realities are not what they seem to be, and there is heavy work required to be done when humans tone into the inner self and ask why am I doing this? Who benefits? And if this is what Heavenly Hands will accept to be done if we were once living a peaceful life?

A healthy culture is aware of the importance of humans toning into their inner selves and examining their behavior, projecting onto others, and the persistent condition of manipulating realities for a short gain.  Cultural change starts from within, seeing human to human, understanding by mocking kindness, they forgot about the kindest of all The Creator of heaven and earth who created everything, and still witnessing everything, how humans use His creation and how they interact with one another for short gain at any cost, years have gone by and I admit I got it all wrong!!!!! And it is better to be aware of fake perceptions of what seemed once a reality. Peace!!!!! By: ME."The old ancient woman"

The fine line in human condition

20220923_203749 Sarah Painting 1-2- 3

        Hello There,

What could be perceived from the moment you are experiencing can carry a timeline of events, places, people, and time. Moments that shaped faulty perceptions of reality bring awakening moments to understand and accept what you see, hear, and experience. The question is how sensations and perceptions take an endless space of shaping what life could mean from situations, places, and a cluster of repeated patterns allowing the deviation from the self and being forgotten in the cascade of events sometimes you question why sis they happen from the first place. The discomfort, the disease, the confusion with ambiguity what humans are up to with what they have given, sought after, and planned to do in life?  The heaviness of the trembling steps in the unknown, the heavy perception of limitations, and abandonment from one generation to the other. Carrying this heavy load without allowing it to process, and resolve to allow more ambiguity to come your way. Humans become tied to the gravity of events, forgetting their own being, their existence, and their perceptions of how to be safe, connected, and alive. The cascade of accumulated unwanted emotions, feelings, thoughts, and actions. The accumulation of unanswered questions. The accumulation of why? And what had happened. The useless ruminations forgetting the moment of bliss and the time of being.

The more you grow older, you question everything, how it exists, and how it persists. Understanding the fine line between what exists, and what you pay attention to? Intergenerational trauma builds a pattern and is utilized as a navigator in each new situation and experience, even faces, places, and times are embedded within the subconscious mind activating events and the association brings the mind and body to a state of reliving the trauma, repeating the same behaviors. The question persists as the event is alive within, and is being triggered by places, persons, and time once all the parameters have taken place, and the action brings everything alive. And here comes the understanding of what triggers, and what can be key components to impact others negatively, using their trauma as a tool to gain power, authority, and even a fortune at the expense of the human being. Even the sciences indicated that everyone on earth experienced at least one traumatic event, for some their trauma is a key to gaining control over one another. There is a fine line between knowing that the person has been through trauma showing empathy moving on, and taking advantage of what already shared to use it against the person who shares at a moment of their vulnerable self. The moment of vulnerability is supposed to be a moment of awareness to tell you that the vulnerable is trusting you enough that they shared the weakest events that had happened one day which should be respected, and honor that trust. However, vulnerability in modern life is a weapon used against the vulnerable at the right moment to strike their safety, and confidence in the world. It is a breaking moment when it comes with awareness that those we most trust, are the first ones to strike us at the weakest moments in our lives. Therefore, it is not normal to talk, and chat, or no one will go back to this place again or reshare it. It is a moment of breaking the veil of reality where we stand and who we are surrounded with.

Many times it is too late to repair, restore, or recover, it is a detrimental moment that says aloud, "You owe yourself an apology, an apology of trusting in the wrong places, people, and time" It is a repeated traumatic event to bring you to the lowest point of giving up, the game of control, and ignoring the human life. You realize how heavy the load is, you understand that you added more load unto your weary soul, you understand that your roots, your existence never considered or will be when you once trusted yet betrayal is the answer, the heavy truth brings you to a state of rebirth and rethinking your share of the load that you participated in bringing unto your life, sharing now became a questionable matter and who you can share with has to be taken seriously. Not everyone has the best interest of your life, not everyone is there to be your cheerleader for your success, not everyone out there waiting for your good days, not everyone listens intending to reshare what you shared, not everyone accounts for your presence when they are making their own lives. Everything has a reason, a season, and a lesson to learn. Understand that your vulnerability is the lesson you have to learn to grow, to mature, and to understand what you pay attention to is going to impact you positively or negatively. Pay attention to the patterns that are running on autopilot for your vulnerability and trust, and understand their impact on your perception, and approach toward life in the stage you are in right now. Remember, your vulnerability was and is the lesson you had to learn.

When the closest hurt, or betrayed you, understand you played a part in it, you had a contribution, and the connection or the relationship was flawed, unhealthy, and was presented for a lesson to learn, yet when the pattern repeated itself, it brings us back to revisit our pain to see how much we grew out of it, or still, there is healing need to take place. Understanding my responsibility for the harm and betrayal allows another window to grow. When the same event repeats itself, know that it is the time to look at it in the face, say nothing, do nothing, and say" thank you, and move on." Your vulnerability shouldn't be used against you, however when it is used against you, thank GOD as it shows you where, who, and why it happens this way. Therefore, it is a moment of awakening, and you need to move on and carry on as you go you will be tested, and you will become the expert in identifying the voice, actions, and ambiguity of intergenerational trauma as humans to see humans, they see toxic faulty, uncontrolled,  harmful history, and they choose not to grow out of it as it serves specific agendas, motives, and scenarios to get what they want "Control". When it comes to this realization understand that this is not the life you want. Therefore, keep moving on, intergenerational trauma requires everyone to wake up and understand this doesn't serve anyone anymore..... you don't have to pretend everything is ok anymore, be yourself, and keep moving on---- Peace!!!!!
